When you see the Smiley Face, sing "When You're Smilin', The Whole World Smiles with You"
There are several trails in the woods along the west side of US Hwy. 550 at the Silverpick Condominiums. One is intriguingly called the Naked Lady trail. It runs parallel and several yards above an old access road along the highway. (Bonus: There really is a naked lady about halfway along and just below the trail. There is now a picnic table there so take a lunch and don't forget the bug spray.)
Unfortunately, the "smiley" log was overturned some time in August 2015 and moved downhill some by muggles (read vandals). Owner uprighted it and replaced the cache. The smiley face is covered with lichens and not so visible now (see gallery).



The trail can be accessed from the south near the Silverpick condominiums, or from the north near the electrical power substation on the highway. Along the old access road paralleling the highway, look for the aspen tree with "trail" marked on it (see gallery).

The cache is a camo ammo can with lots of room for TBs. Initial contents are a logbook, pen and pencil, map showing hiking trails at Silverpick, giant silver quarter, and Bobono the Monkey cache buddy CB8FMP.

This cache is not available in winter due to heavy snowfall. At other times, enjoy a wonderful walk in the woods.

Well I wanted to log a DNF with a favorite point but I can't figure out how to do that. Sorry. 5 cachers had a great hike in a cool forest on a hot day, thanks to you.

Never saw the "smile" but we found the cache. Finally learned how "Naked Lady Trail" got its name! Lots of giggles. Took the long route, still fairly short but one of our favorites - sooooo pretty. Saw hail AND sun kissed ferns in the same hike. Coming from the desert-southwest all of this greenery is a gift!
