I wonder what kind of shape the road will be in after they are all done with the work. A local we chatted with said they had to return it to the original condition. We hope to be back in the area next year so maybe we will drive up and take a look. It's a cool place to hike since it looks a bit different than a lot of other areas. Initially my GPS was pointing someplace I really didn't want to go but it settled down took us right to the cache. Be aware that even some of the big rocks will shift. "Try before it you buy it" on hand and foot holds. TFTC

Had a nice little hike up here with WingsAndTales today. The road was closed at the last switchback as they were doing some reclamation up at the mine, so we didn't have to decide whether or not to try to drive it. Straightforward hike up to the cache, and we were lucky that the earlier clouds burned off and gave us some nice views. Thanks for the hide!

We love the area and were looking forward to finding the cache. What a great cache it is. We loved the hike and scramble up there (indeed not for the faint hearted) and will probably do it again. For the record, the arrow in one of the submitted pictures is not pointing to the cache location!! The coordinates of the cache are spot on. TFTC.

The drive up to Porphry Basin is always on our to-do list while Jeeping in the Silverton area! Hiked to the cache with son Jeremy and 10 year old grandson Ryan this morning. I can't believe Estes01 couldn't make it to the cache site as it didn't seem all that hard! Oh well, we had a good time. Thanx for an excellent cache XJ4..........Tony.

Unless KJ4 changes his found policies, we will no longer search for his caches.
