It wasn't too hard to find out the name of the formation from google :)
This spring I've decided to do another epic geocaching trip to pick up some special caches in the United States.
Starting in London, I fly to Seattle, then Denver, then Atlanta, then New York before finally heading back to London.
After arriving from Seattle I drove east and stayed in a dodgy motel in Wray but it meant first thing I could grab a cache in Haigler NEBRASKA. From there I went into KANSAS for the two most important targets - Arikaree and MINGO! The rest of the day was spent targeting regular sized trads and virtuals in OKLAHOMA and NEW MEXICO.
The next morning was focussed in getting JASMER caches and a WEBCAM in COLORADO, with the rest of the day for virtuals and D5 challenge caches.

27x Virtuals
7x D5 Challenge Caches (3x not qualified yet)
14x Other Caches
5x New States (Nebraska,Kansas,Oklahoma,Colorado,New Mexico)
TOTAL FINDS: 48
TOTAL DNF: 2

Next stop - Atlanta to complete my DOUBLE JASMER!

Day 5 of an epic 6 day journey out to the western frontier. I had some vacation time that I needed to burn up by the end of the year, and what better way to use it than to go Geocaching! My main goal was to find caches in New Mexico and Nevada, which would complete my map in the western US. The rest of the 4 remaining states are on the East Coast. Secondary goals were to find oldies, mostly virtuals, and high favorited caches. The only bad part of the trip was that it rained every single day of my vacation.
I headed south out of MN on Sunday and returned home on Friday.
Sunday - Drive all the way through to Colorado (15 hours!)
Monday - Cache in and around Denver and Colorado Springs, with an attempt at Pike's Peak (closed at Mile 14)
Tuesday - Head south towards GC19 and then west through Wolf Creek Pass
Wednesday - Four Corners monument and west towards Nevada
Thursday - After a night in Richfield, UT, head east through the skiing areas of Colorado towards Nebraska
Friday - The long drive home
Thanks to all the cache owners for placing these caches for me to find and for keeping the oldies going all these years.
Cool virtual! Thanks for bringing me here!

MPLC

Our English is not perfect, we use Google Translate to help us ...
Our journey began last August 22 and will take us to visit twelve US states and two Canadian provinces ... Our departure was from Baie-Comeau, a city on the North Shore of Quebec and then continue for a few days in Quebec City where we did some Geocaching .... Then we stopped at St-Eustache and Ville de Laval, still in Quebec, and then flew to Portland, Oregon... We made stop in Umatilla on August 28 still in Oregon, August 29 in Boise, Idaho, August 30 in Twin Falls and August 31st we are in Salt Lake City for two days... The 2nd of september we were in Rock Springs. Wyoming and the september 3 the road brought us to Laramie, Wyoming... On September 4th and 5th we were in the Colorado Spring area, CO ... Today we are heading to Fort Collins, CO
Throughout the trip we have targeted some caches that will help us achieve our personal goals and we will certainly discover new places that Geocachers here will want us to discover ... We have been planning this trip for several months and know we will not be able to not all see for lack of time ... There are many caches but we must close our eyes can not find them all ... But it is with pleasure that we will put our signature on some of them ...
Thank you for creating these caches that add smiles to our profile and make us have a good time regardless of the mood of Mother Nature ... Our log will be the same for the whole day and if there is a particularity we will add it at the beginning of the text ... Favorites will be added here and there for all the work done ... TFTC

On a Fall trip through Colorado doing some caching and seeing the sites. A beautiful scenic drive through Rocky Mountain National Park. Visiting the downtown areas of Boulder, Denver, Castle Rock and Colorado Springs to name a few. We enjoyed a beautiful hike on the Barr trail at the Summit of Pikes Peak. It was a wonderful trip with quite a bit of caching thrown in along the way. This was another interesting stop along our route. This cache started a little discussion about what things look like. Thanks for the virtual. Answer sent.

I visited GZ, saw the formation, and something other than a safari-type animal. My answer will be on its way shortly. Nice job and TFTC!

Took a bit of a long weekend, well five days anyway and hopped in a car with Boreal Walker and yellowdogs (AKA - Team Barcelona) and headed west aiming for parts unknown. This cache was one of those on the adventure. Stopped here on the way through the area and enjoyed seeing things as we went. Was really warm out here today but still better than working. Thanks for setting this one up and keeping it going.

I am on a road trip with Boreal Walker and jREST from Minnesota to New Mexico and back meandering our way through as many counties as we could with many target caches in our sights. The weather was decent, although we did have a day that the temperatures reached 100 degrees and we were very thankful for the air conditioning the car provided. We enjoyed our journey and the many laughs along the way along with the great places some of these caches brought us to.
Our answer has been sent. Thanks for the cache!
Sun Shining. Go Caching. Be Smiling!

While my area family members were hard at work, I decided to spend my day geocaching in Colorado Springs and beyond. I started in Manitou Springs and traveled north in my quest for mostly earthcaches and virtuals...
This was my final find of the day. I enjoyed taking the winding and scenic backroads to GZ. In addition to the animal I saw there, I spotted a herd of deer chilling under shade trees at one of the nearby residences. Thanks for the fun.

Out geocaching on this pretty Colorado day. We were in the area today so I decided to stop and make the find. Definitely a new road I've never been on before. Thanks for placing this virtual cache for us to find a day

I've never been to this part of Beacon Light Rd or this neighborhood. Nice area. I think the formation looks like Atak AT-AT! Not really a safari animal but that's what it reminded me of right away and I'm not even a Star Wars fan.
Photo of me at GC ground zero sent to GC owner.

Cool rock formation :) I've attached a picture to show we were there. Thank you for keeping this going!

Such a beautiful Colorado day to go on a safari! Spotted our quarry quickly and identified its species without incident. We will use this cache for a challenge we are working on. Thanks for this virtual---email to follow.

Been by here many times, don't know how I missed it before, Thanks!

I couldn't take my eyes off the road for too long to look at the formation; there were deer running across the road all over the place. Could just barely make out the shape through the trees, I think I got it right. Thanks for the virtual cache.

It was a bit of a safari to find the way in and out of this neighborhood. No big cats to pounce when one opens the door and steps out for a photo, thankfully. TFTV

Trees made this a bit hard to make out, but ended up speaking with a homeowner, who helped me out a bit. Once he suggested the name, I saw it! Very distinctive. E-mailed CO with the answer. Thanks for another good virtual.
