Available during winter  Tree Climbing

Fly if you can, climb if you must. Or strap on your rocket boosters.

It’s been 51 years since the first moon landing. This feat would be difficult today and considering the technology available at the time it was an astounding achievement.

We didn’t send anyone to the moon solo and it would be best not to do this cache solo either. If you are REALLY tall and a good climber you MIGHT be able to do this without any help but it's not likely.

Bring a friend, a rope, rocket boosters or all three.

You will need to do some homework before going to the first stage.

A. After launch the mission initially established earth orbit. How many FULL orbits were completed before the trans-lunar injection burn?

B. The last digit of the day of the month at splashdown?

C. Number of letters in the last name of the Lunar Module Pilot?

D. Number of stars on the mission patch?

E. Number of stages on the Saturn V rocket?

F. Number of letters in the last name of the Command Module Pilot?

G. Number of letters in the command module call sign(used during the mission)?

H. During the descent to the moon the lunar module computer repeatedly gave a 4 digit alarm code. What is the second digit?

I. Number of letters in the lunar module call sign(used during the mission)?

J. Number of letters in the last name of the Commander?

At the posted coords you will find two forest service signs on metal posts. One is white and says “No Shooting” and the other one is yellow and says “Property Boundary”.

The white sign has a number at the bottom. Let the last four digits equal KLMN.

The yellow sign has 3 digits in the bottom left corner. Let them equal XYZ.

The value of Z will give you the final location:

If Z=1 go KFC meters east, MED meters south

If Z=2 go MDG meters west and NXF meters south

If Z=3 go LEB meters east, ALJ meters south

If Z=4 go KEH meters west, YFI meters south

The container is wired on and can't be lowered with a pole or hook.  Please don't remove the container from the host.  Just open the lid on the bottom to access the log.

This cache was our quest today. We pulled up to the starting point and then read the description. That was our first mistake. Luckily the forgiving caching gods gave us a healthy phone signal and we were able to make the needed calculations. Then we decided to ignore the warning about needed TOTTS. We headed off and arrived at the GZ. I was able to make the climb without any TOTTS or help. But it was VERY tiring.
Love the puzzle. Love the final. We took the trackable, secured everything as it should be, then headed down the trail to grab others.
This was the last needed cache for my third fizzy loop. Thank you!
Today @OUT14ND3R and I headed south to Woodland Park to grab a bunch of caches. We headed down early in the morning. But our plans were derailed when we realized that our primary targets were more difficult than expected. We spent most of the day on a particular trail. Exhausted and weary, we came back down and headed to Starbucks for refreshment. Afterward we grabbed a few more caches on our way back to Parker/Aurora. Fun day. Now I'll need a few days to recover.
Thanks for the cache!

We saw this one when it first posted, and solved the puzzle soon thereafter. It took until now for me to have all of the necessary "equipment" to be able to get our signature on the log. Which we did !
Not giving away any info on the cache itself, but we did sign the log (photo attached) and drop off a trackable -- appropriately, a Travel Astronaut (TB91RAT) !
A well deserved favorite point for this cache that is (gotta say it) -- out of this world !

I had a rare weekday off from work and what else should fill my free time but good friendship and geocaching? Gampa and I set out for caches near Woodland Park and we were not disappointed. A day full of finds and hikes and laughs and spectacular views. We thoroughly enjoyed this area.

Now this is a cache! We set out for this cache specifically today and were not disappointed. We quickly ran the calculations and, with Gampa's correct numbers, moved down to check on this one before fetching TOTTs if needed. Well, turns out we didn't need them! I was able to shimmy up to snag this one. Well, sign it. Gampa got great pictures! It was a great way to start the day. This one is in great shape and waiting for more finders! TFTC!

Today was the dryest day of the week, so it was a perfect day to hike and cache in the hills near Woodland Park with TigerFinder. The weather was clear and cool, the views from the cache locations were amazing, and the company was great!

This was the primary goal of today's caching, and it did not disappoint. The puzzles were fun and we soon had calculated our final coordinates. We decided to leave our TOTTs in the vehicle until we had a chance to see what we were up against at GZ. It turns out we didn't need them - TigerFinder made the climb without any external aid. We enjoyed the container, signed the log, and TigerFinder safely made it back to terra firma. Thanks for the fun multi cache.

What a well-done puzzle and tribute...for both the historic event, and the legendary FTF'er! How many people do you see rigging gear and doing things like THIS way up high in a tree...on their birthday? This was a hoot and a half, and I was very thankful that the whole operation was smooth from launch to landing. Thank you for placing this excellent multi. Deserves more than the one favorite I can give!

Holy cow, what a wonderful birthday cache!! Thank you so much! It started to rain when we arrived at the listed coordinates, so we did our calculations in the car and ate lunch until we got a break in the weather and could take off for the hide. I knew that this one would not disappoint, and was very happy to see the challenge at ground zero. With the proper TOTTs we were able to quickly reach and sign the cache, and make a successful landing. Fortunately we didn't need to do a splash landing, as it wasn't quite that wet... . Thanks for the awesome cache, and the opportunity to get first shot at it!!
