Congrats to hartsdale for FTF!
\n I changed Difficulty. It really isn't that hard to find I was just worried someone might fall as it is on a cliff side
Once you're in the canyon take CR 393 and stay to the right all the way up! Most people know it as Wagon Tongue Gulch! It is all the way at the top! Take a right at N 38* 54.881 W105* 25.254 and continue up! There are a couple of great camp sites I have been coming to for years so I might see you! Once you are up there continue around to the camp spot close to the edge of the cliffs! It is over the edge somewhere?? ####!!!!!!!!!!!BE CAREFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!#### Leave your dogs and children a safe distance away from the edge! It is a safe place as long as you are careful! I placed the cache with no climbing gear so you should be able to retrieve it without it! Great prize for FTF! Log book and some swag! Also some dog treats for your furry friend! I also left some bags if anyone wants to C.I.T.O. After the weekend the place needs it badly!

This was my second trip to 11 Eleven Mile State Park because there are a number of interesting caches in the area. I had formally dubbed today “11M Run Phase 2,” but informally the “Replacement Run” from all of the caches I wound up repairing today. This cache was first on my target list because it had a good D/T combination and it looked fun. Judging from the logs and the fact that the CO hasn’t logged in for two years; I had a strong suspicion this cache was in distress. The CO said he would check it back in 2015 and that obviously has not happened. I came prepared to step up and make a replacement if this cache was truly in distress, and this was the case. When I got to GZ, I learned to two important things.

The first was the terrain rating. I strongly suspected this one was overrated, but when I was physically at the GZ I saw the CO’s logic. There is an element of danger here and this cache is definitely a “no no” in periods of snow, ice, hail and rain. I had to be reminded of that the hard way when I almost slipped working my way down to the search area because I was a bit too flippant.

The second thing I noted was why this one was missing. There are numerous firepits (cache description is spot on), so this is a popular camping area. As any experienced geocacher can tell you; ammo cans, fires, beer and BillyBob seem to go well together…with clearly understood implication for the ammo can. I can see why this one is missing.

After a very detailed search of the GZ, it was clear this one is gone. The cache description and hint lead you to a very specific spot; there isn’t allot of ambiguity of where it was. On that note, I will say I appreciate a CO that understands the danger aspect and provides a clear description of the hide so that people don’t take unneeded risks searching for a cache. I made the replacement a bit off to the side to make it slightly harder for BillyBob to find but any geocacher will still find with the coordinates. The replacement container is a camouflaged, plastic herring jar (because I penguin would like that) hidden in the same fashion as in the cache description. If the CO resumes his caching career and has any questions about the hide, please feel free to contact me. Hopefully, this cache will survive for a few years so we can all cache on.

Found the location...and the hiding material, but the cache is gone...likely washed away.

Thought I'd try this one. Got real close above it and started working my way down to the next level lower - alas, my cache-mates were freaked out, so I turned back after reaching about 25 feet from gz. Sorry I couldn't verify the condition.

Any updates for this one? Would love to grab it if it's there!

I will drive up and check this cache this weekend. Sorry I had not seen that people were having issues finding it.

Trying to plan my next souvenir, is this one still there or has it gone MIA? An update would be awesome!
