Takes less than an hour  Scenic view

High altitude fun.
OK cachers pay attention; STAY OFF THE GRASS. This is a high alpine zone and the grass is fragile. With that said please make sure and rock hop your way to the cache. There are plenty of rocks from either parking spot to make your way all the way to the cache without stepping on the grass. Once you get near the cache watch your step as you go back down the other side.

I was visiting the top with some out of town friends and found a red Nalgene bottle in the parking lot it was just begging to become a cache.

Just like all of my caches there is a little adrenaline involved in the find. Have fun, be careful, and STAY OFF THE GRASS, please.

Got an early start from the Crags trailhead this morning and had a very nice hike up to Devil's Playground. Weather was perfect, so I took several detours once up top (and on the way down) to pick up some nearby caches. My goodness, some of these have been lonely for a while - this one is easy to see why!!

With careful maneuvering, I steadily moved toward this cache and hovered at the 20' mark for a while with multiple directions of approach. Finally, it settled at 7', so I stopped to take in the scenery and was shocked at where I was, thankful that there was no wind! One more spot piqued my curiosity, so did some "rumpaging" (and desperately wished that I hadn't just looked around) and soon had the cache in hand. As others have mentioned, I would think the risk of a wrong step would merit at least a 4.5T!

Who knew there were so many red Nalgene caches up here on Pikes Peak? (Well, at least 2). Thank you for placing this unique cache.

Had some friends in town that wanted to go to the top today, I have been to the top a couple of times this month, so I had them drop me at the parking lot and pick me up on the way back down.

They did not stay long at the top, so I had a short wait for a ride back down.

Thanks for another fun placement!

Wow!!! All I can say is I am glad I made it out there and back. And glad I was able to find it when I got there. I found myself in the most amazing location of our trip so far. Yes, the adrenaline was pumping! Thanks!

I spent a long time climbing to the top. Left backpack at one level, hiking poles at another & went on up. Was greeted by a marmot who watched as I invaded his space. After 15 minutes of looking, it started raining/hailing then a huge clap of thunder so to be safe I scurried back to the Devil's Playground parking lot, arriving quit wet & cold. I got within 9 feet of GZ before opting for safety.
Maybe next time I'll start earlier.

After traversing a few snow fields Java Chip and I arrived at the cache. What an amazing view! We wanted to just sit down and enjoy it for awhile but the storm clouds were rolling in. This is a favorite! TFTC!
