Tiny Island Cache #2

This is the second in our series in tiny island caches. You can enjoy the view of an Osprey's nest from this location, but please observe signs and do not disturb the nesting area. This tiny island is very close to the shore of Lake Granby. It can be accessed easily with a canoe, kayak, or SUP from Arapahoe bay campground. A strong swimmer could make it there, and you might even be able to walk across in low water conditions. the cache is tiny and only contains a log.

We are on our yearly trip to Colorado. We stay in Granby for two weeks. This cache has bee on our list to do. Today we drove over to check lake level. Water down so was able to reach cache on foot. Soon had cache in hand, signed and placed back. Thanks for the adventure!

It was the perfect day and conditions to grab this cache. We did the loop around monarch lake and saw a moose. No Ospreys spotted across the way on the island but as we were driving away we saw an opsrey sitting in a nest! We wouldn't have been looking if it hadnt been for this cache alerting us to their presence. Thanks!

We enjoyed the challenge of this adventure. Luckily we had several people who were able bodied enough to help get a canoe up and down a small cliff side. It took some time for us to locate the cache, even though it was discovered right in front of my nose.
