Aprroximately 2 miles of rough road off Slate River Road. 4WD, ATV, motorcycle, bicycle or hiking is recommended. Slate River crossing may be dangersous during Spring runoff.Container is a transparent waterproof plastic box near the road fork for Daisy Pass and the Agusta Mine. It contains a disposable camera (take a picture of your group and put it back please!), flashlight, waterproof match case, salt and pepper container, two mini carabiner, a NASCAR "National Guard" car keyring, two matchbox cars (a car and an old Bronco), a car freshener and a ziploc bag with pencil and notebook. You are at the base of an old mining tram that was used to transport ore from the Augusta mine located over 3000 feet up the mountain. You can still see some of the old cable hanging to the right of the waterfall if the light is right.

08/15/2015 By MountainBear Found with Java Chip on the way over Daisy Pass. We made it over the pass but turned back when we heard what sounded like a pack of wolves having a howl fest. Beautiful area though!! TFTC!!!
09/15/2014 By cb_beauty TFTC. SoldierGrrrl and I out caching before working the night shift and clearing out some local caches. Nice walk. Beautiful weather. Cache easy to find.
09/15/2014 By SoldierGrrrl TFTC, found while out caching with CB_Beauty. Slate River water crossing was easy for us in a SportTrac, as well as a Toyota wagon who was behind us. We drove to with .3 miles of cache, stopping at another water crossing, one choice was a deep puddle, about 30 feet long and 18 inches deep in the middle. I guessed at water depth by with water level reaching the belly of our yellow lab, who waded through it. The other choice was a mud track I didn't want to risk.
Cache was easily found coordinates and hint. I took a packet of what appeared to be graham crackers to throw them away and left a toy Soldier. As we were leaving, eagle-eye CBB spotted a 1906 Indian head penny in the dirt. Wow. Slate river and water falls are gorgeous.
