View of Silverton from Above The S

This Cache is located on the Westside of Silverton, Colorado on the base of Anvil Mountain. It is located above the prominant white "S" painted on the mountain and is at an elevation of 9,720 feet. It is accessible from a trail head at the North end of the scenic Shrine Road.
The cache consists of an ammo can painted black tucked in a rock crevice. Silverton is my favorite vacation spot and I spend a week here every year which is why I chose to place this cache. Thanks goes out to jake92, a local cacher, who has agreed to assist with any cache problems.

T4TC awesome views wonderful hike but the terrain is a 4 or at least a 3.5 certainly tougher than a 3. But the views are worth the climb

Brushed up on my rock climbing skills. Should not have gone that way. Still, the trail was pretty difficult too. Took geocoin and left a couple of trade items.

Holy moly! This was harder than Behind the Shrine. Started out up the trail but going the wrong direction so decided to go straight toward the cache. Big mistake !!! Came back down the trail. Much easier.

My wife and I are on vacation to Durango and hiked up Engineer this morning... I think this little trek was steeper lol. Awesome cache! We left a trackable we took from MA.
