This cache is in one of my favorite places to hike. If you have never been there you are in for a treat. The cache is located near the trail head for fancy lake and fancy pass trail. Hopefully you can make it the 3.4 miles to the lake. You will not be disappointed if you do. If you really want to go the extra mile (literally 1 mile each way) you can venture on to the ghost town of holy cross city. Or you could do a loop starting with fancy pass and and going through to Missouri pass and end in the same parking lot. The cache is a large ammo box with Some fun swag for the kids. When it was placed it had a couple hot wheels, a doll figurine, and a flashlight. I hope you enjoy the area as much as I do. Look for “The old man in the woods” to help guide you. He will be peeking out from the branches of a tree near the cache. 

You will not have cell service in this area so be sure to bring your GPS or download the cache details for offline use. The road up can be rough but you don’t need 4 wheel drive or high clearance to get there.

FTF! This is a beautiful drive and hike if you have time! This trail isn’t for the faint of heart tho! Cache was in great shape and the old man was so cool! TFTC!
