SummitCachers & Mr Ed near Dinah's Cache

Here's a fun cache near some of our favorite hiking trails south of Breckenridge.
You can easily get to within 1.25 miles of the cache with a car. If you have 4WD (or a rental car) you can almost drive to the cache itself. If you decide to take the 4WD trail I suggest parking at 39 26.227N & 106 04.126W and walking the remaining 1/4 mile.

The cache is in a Rubbermaid container and is covered to avoid detection. Please recover it when you leave.

The initial contents of this cache are:

- Just Plowin Around travel bug
- carabiner keychain
- penlight
- psychadelic pencil
- super pencil sharpener
- Windows XP auto squeeze toy
- rubber dinosaur
- plastic utility clamp
- red flag found in a cache in Canada
- Echo Bay Alaska cap
- plastic portfolio cover

Please try to leave stuff that's at least as nice as what you take.

This cache was named after Dinah who was.....well, don't ask.

While looking for this cache you may want to visit Crystal Lakes and Mohawk Lakes. The trails to these lakes are some of our favorite day hikes. Finding the trailhead can be a bit tricky, but they're popular and there's usually lots of cars parked there.

Who said one can't find a geocache in the snow on a snowy day! A group of us were up at the cabin for a few days and as this geocache was only 300 or so feet away, why not try. I placed a copy of a trackable "Donald Stump". The original seems to have been lost so I'm trying to get Donald moving again. If you find him, please log the find and move him along. Tks Thanks for maintaining this cache!

After quite a hike in mud, rocks and snow - we didnt find it. Probably because there's several feet of snow up there! People were skiing down past us. Cool place!

Wow! Being flatlanders from New York this one nearly kicked our butts, but my girlfriend and I were determined to complete our mission. We eventually covered the mile plus distance up the hill (with only three quarters of a bottle of water between us...d'oh!), and were not only psyched to have made it without collapsing but also psyched to come up with the container without any problems. Cache is in fine shape. I signed in, left a PathTag then replaced as found. The hike back down presented it's own challenge or two but it was certainly a quicker journey. Smile

Love these older caches, and I'm glad I was able to score this one while in the area. Thanks for the fun and for keeping it going for all these years!

Hiked part of the Wheeler Trail and found the cache a little ways off trail. Lots of pesky mosquitoes in the area. Cache in excellent condition. TNLN SL T4TSmile

Found this cache with the charming Mr Ed, one of the people who originally placed it oh-so-many years ago. Beautiful area, easy find if you wander down from Francie's Cabin. We got to introduce a few of our traveling companions to geocaching with this cache. Que suave!

It was a fun day out with Team Red Rubicon running this trail and then heading over to Peak 10 and running that one to the top. It was a bit wet on this trail but the weather cleared up just in time for us to stop and have a nice lunch. We found the cache in good shape.

Thanks for the cache,

Spent the day jeeping with Team Red Rubicon. We made a run up to Crystal Lakes and then headed over to Peak 10. Although we ran into ran, we had a great day!

Thanks!
