Dogs  Takes less than an hour  Scenic view  Off-road vehicles

Short steep hike after driving a few miles on a 4wd road. I don't recommend you drive a car up here. High clearance only, 4wd required in winter if it's even accessible at all. Beware of mountain lions and bears as they have been spotted in the area.
Cache placed to commemorate Sax Man's Campout (2nd annual) held July 4th weekend at Colorado Campground and Manitou Lake.

This area can be accessed from hwy 67 (to the west) or forest road 300 (from Woodland Park and the Rampart Range Road). The road leading closest to the cache is numbered 346. It's about a 1/4 mile hike uphill from the best parking. The rating system suggested a "4" for terrain, but because it's a short hike I bumped it down to 3 stars. I'll adjust it further based on feedback from other cachers.

I logged this one as found on 6/8/18. NOT! I must not have been paying attention. Apologies!

Originally this hike was going to be my goal for the day but I only have a Santa Fe & i wasn't sure about the road. Then I thought it was supposed to storm. Then it cleared up & I found myself going up & up this road. It was a little challenging in a couple of places but I made it. Not a long, but steep hike later & here I am. Just got the bad weather call for home though so I hope it's not too bad there. I picked up the TB that has been here since the last finder. Thanks for pushing me to come here.

As a fat older man getting to this kicked my butt but it was a lot of fun. Dropped a TB for someone else to grab.

Had a nice walk up this peak - found this cache on the way up, and it made the climb and descent quite pleasant by avoiding anything steep. Thanks for the cache and the "waypoint"!

Found today with OF-Erad. We found a nearby puzzle so decided to make the climb up here. We went slow and steady but made it to the cache and found it safe and sound...TFTC SL

Grabbed this cache on the way down from the RC Summit Series cache at the crest. If we had hit this cache first on the way up (different route from the one we took), Mrs. LL2 would probably have enjoyed the trip to the top more. Cache is in great shape. Nice to see an old-timer (cache) still ready to play! Thanks for putting this cache in play in this seldom visited area.
