Fourth in our "Phineus and Ferb" series. The cache is in a beautiful high mountain meadow on the slopes of Pike's Peak. A nice hike from Barr Camp, where I was staying overnight with my kids. Enjoy!

Was camped at Barr Camp for a few days over the holiday, and took this day to explore a bunch of the trails nearby. Found this cache towards the end of the day, spotted GZ from a few hundred feet away. :-) Thanks for placing it!

Found the cache after starting up for the summit of Pikes Peak via Barr trail but then 1/2 mile below the A-frame we got a text from Dianne (our ride down) that the road was closed above Glenn Cove. We went back down hill and decided to hike to Elk Park which is just above Glenn Cove. This was on the way so we found it. My pen wasn't working but I attached a picture of the cache and the contents. TN LN TFTC!

It's in near- perfect shape even yet! There is just a bit of chewed-hole in one corner, but careful replacement has kept that facing down so that not much moisture damage seems to have hit over the years! I replaced it as carefully as I could the same way so it lasts as long as needed for the next long hiker!! Smile

Love this meadow. The lock-n-lock box was open with the lid off and the contents spilled out. Things were covered in snow (actually graupel) from yesterday though the log itself was pretty dry. I couldn't find by pen and if there was one in the box, it might be down where I could not reach. Dried things off a little and the lid snapped back on OK. No idea how the lid could come off unless helped by some critter. Cache should be OK and maybe the next cacher will have some good weather and let things dry out better. TNLNSL. TFTC.
