The Continental Divide serves as the dividing line between Park and Summit Counties with water to the south running into the Atlantic Ocean and northern tributaries running into the Pacific Ocean. To the south one can see the Montgomery Reservoir, which services Colorado Springs and was once the site of a bustling mining community. Placer Valley and the Alma State Wildlife Area follow the South Platte River from Montgomery down towards South Park.

Turn into the parking area at Hoosier Pass off of highway 9. Park here and hike in if you have a 2WD or low clearance vehicle. Take County Road 2 west from the parking area into the forest and go left when the road forks. Follow this road until your GPSr leads you off the road. Please use caution on the hillside and replace the cache as you found it.

Thxs for another South Park geotour cache. the coords were spot on & there is lots of space on this log for future finds. This is one I always wanted to stop at after skiing at Copper Mtn but knew it would be under snow so shared the trail today w/lots of other people.
