Scenic view  Abandoned mines  Quads  Off-road vehicles  Abandoned Structure  Medium hike (1km-10km)  Seasonal Access

This is an old mining homestead not far from Alma, CO.  High clearance vehicle required unless you're hiking.
We stumbled upon this place years ago while ATV'ing. Walk around the area and you'll see several old buildings and log structures as well as a small house. Use caution when exploring the area and think twice before going inside the buildings since they are all old and dilapidated. By the way, my kids think the house is haunted; my son swears he saw two eyes looking at him from the upper window, wooooo!

The road leading to the site is rocky and fairly steep so a high clearance vehicle is required or, of course, you can always hike.

The cache is a 50 cal. ammo container, easy to find, and contains swag/log/pen. Happy hunting!

Fall caching with Psych01 in the South Park area. This was a really neat spot and the mural painted on the inside wall of the house was amazing!....TFTC SL

In the area with fearthefish collecting up a few stray degrees I need to complete the Colorado 360 Challenge. There are 2 reasons this became a double digit find day for me: 1. We drove for 2 hours to get here and we weren't about to find 3 caches and turn around and go home! 2. When one travels with fearthefish it is as sure as death and taxes that you will be stopping many many times to grab caches in the area that satisfy fizzy challenges and jasmer challenges and word challenges from 10 years ago etc, etc, etc.! And while that might sound like complaining, it is anything but and we wouldn't have fearthefish acting any other way!! TFTC

I love finding lonely caches. Since this one hadn't been found in over a year, heh324 and I decided to look for it. The fact that the cache title helps me with a challenge cache didn't hurt either.

The drive up to this one was exciting (to say the least). I think heh324 felt relieved when we finally parked near the cache. We had a good time checking out the area, and had no trouble finding the container. This is one of those spots I would have never seen if not for geocaching, which was very cool.

After we signed the log and replaced the container we still had to make our way down the hill and back to the main road. We did hold our breath a few times, and still made it to the bottom without any issues. Thanks for the fun hide and for your contribution to a great day of caching.

Wow quite the adventure to get to this one got within 100 feet in the jeep. This is a great area back here and love all the old buildings sad they are sitting here to rot away. Grabbed the cache and explored a little then back on the road
