The Magnolia Mill was formerly known as the Eddy Mill, used by the Commonwealth Mining Company to treat ore from the Magnolia Mill using the MacArthur-Forrest process. Commonwealth Mining Company purchased the mine and mill in 1917 and enlarged the mine, located 1,200 feet above the mill on North Star Mountain. Remnants of an impressive tramway that once ran 3,800 feet between the mine and mill are still visible through the trees above the Magnolia.

From highway 9, take County Road 4 west towards Montgomery Reservoir. Limited parking areas are available along the road when you reach the reservoir and it is recommended that 2WD vehicles park before the gate. Walk up the road towards the mill and take one of many use paths to the cache. Please use caution on the rocks surrounding the mill.

Our goal today was to hike to Wheeler Lake, but we only got to within 1.5 miles of our target. There’s still too much snow on the trail! I did find three caches during our hike, but this wasn’t one of them. I searched and searched, but wasn’t able to make the find.

We are asking the Historical Society to please ck on this cache. We spent 30+ minutes climbing around on the rocks, looking under the trees, etc & I think the cache is missing.

I didn't find it. I walked around the mill and along the water. Definitely a very cool place! Saw a marmot. Thanks for placing a cache here.

We went to Hoosier Pass area to hike. This is one of the caches that I did not find. No luck.

My daughter and I searched for about 20 minutes. Sorry.

I did a few town caches around Dillon in the morning. Then we headed over to Breckenridge. After lunch, we walked around and picked up a few caches.

They we headed over Hoosier pass towards Alma. Unfortunately, the Alma area caches were not on my phone, and I could not get them to download in the field. So we went to Montgomery Reservoir to get a CSP cache.

After passing through Alma we went down to Fairplay so Anne could get some ice cream and I might be able to download Alma caches. No luck on the download, but way too much ice cream.

This was a wonderful spot. The wimpy Rogue made it to the end of the road, so it was a quick walk to the cache location. Favorite for CSP in a great location.

Signed the log KAJW. Took nothing. Left nothing. Thanks for the cache!
