Although Guffey may never again reach its historical population, it has rebounded thanks in part to the construction of several nearby subdivisions in the latter half of the 20th Century. There is no cell phone service within the community and it is a 30 minute drive to the next town, which has attracted some residents to the area. Today, Guffey is a close knit community with its own charter school, library, and community center.

From Hartsel, take Highway 9 south for approximately 26 miles then turn left on to County Road 102. When you get into town, the road will lead you right to Main Street. Drive north of town and park in the Library and Community Center parking lot on your left.
