This was my second trip to 11 Eleven Mile State Park area because there are a number of interesting caches in the area. I had formally dubbed today “11M Run Phase 2,” but informally the “Replacement Run” from all of the caches I wound up repairing today. This cache was on my target list because it had a good D/T combination and it looked fun. I started my hike from the “secret” parking spot near GC3NZ5X 11 Mile Bears Watching #2 traditional cache. Soon after starting, I passed three hunting zeroing their rifles for the upcoming season. I have to say I enjoyed “the stroll” for this cache…wide open, alpine fields. I was definitely a good break from rocky trails, boulder scrambling, and heart pounding elevation change. While you do have to do a bearing projection for this one, I also enjoyed doing an honest multi-cache. I think there are too many puzzle protected multicaches in Colorado and I wish people understood the difference between puzzle and multicaches better. This was on my list today because true multicaches are relatively rare, so I did not pass up the opportunity here. Despite its age, the cache container is still in great shape. It was a bonus that this one was lonely as well, because I keep track of those stats for challenges. With this find, I now have (counting only 1 year or more lonely) a total of 162 years, 2 months lonely time on 74 caches from 11 North American States & Provinces. Thanks to the CO for placing this cache and putting together such a nice multicache, TFTC.

We found it more by our spidey senses than compass bearing, but I think we hit all the right spots along the way... Giving this one a favorite.
