CONGRATULATIONS TO mtnbirders FOR THEIR FTF!

The cache is located on a promontory that overlooks County Road 580 as it passes through the Huerfano State Wildlife Area.  The wildlife area  is a popular camping venue, so consider a camping/caching combination activity.  Alternatively, find this cache while en route or returning from a climb of the 14er Mt. Lindsay (14,042 feet), or one (or both) of the nearby Centennial 13ers [California Peak (13,849 feet)  and  Huerfano Peak (13,828 feet)].  Standard climbing routes on all three of these marvelous mountains are accessed via the road that passes near this cache.

From the cache vicinity look down on and listen to the water cascading and singing along its course adjacent to the roadway.  It's lovely as seen and heard from this location.  Close your eyes.  Listen to the music of the water as it tumbles over rocks.  It's a special place having a special set of sounds and sights that will fill your senses.  But don't get so distracted by these natural phenomena that you forget to find the cache and sign its special treasure, the log!

~Enjoy this place!~

Spending our 6th summer in Buena Vista, Colorado. Spent the day doing our 2 favorite things: Jeeping and geocaching with friends. We just love to find those out-of-the-way lonely caches, tfth.

For someone a little afraid of heights this was a challenge, but the climb was also a challenge. Gorgeous fall colors and weather today. Thanks for leading us somewhere we would not have explored without a cache.

After getting an FTF! we figured we'd get this one while we were back here. Very nice area. The last logged find was over 2 years ago and this was still safe.

After getting an FTF! at the upper Mosca Pass trail head, we figured we'd get this one while we were back here. Very nice area all along the creek through here. The road has just been overhauled after what appears to be lots of small landslides and washouts. There were jet black pine cones above GZ. Took quite awhile to find this one as it was buried under tons of debris. Very good location for a cache with some nice views of the creek. The last logged find was over 2 years ago on 8/10/13 and this was still safe and sound.

A rare micro cache find for the team, thanks to Connor's eyes.. Stopped on the way to Blanca trail head for fishing. Pretty wet this season. TFTC.
