Easy one with good parking at 6904 ft. in
elevation.
Film Canister, log only. BYOP
#8 in the GeoFishing series. Bring a pole, a GPSr, some free time
and a desire to have fun... This cache is located below the
spillway for Big Beaver Dam, which impounds the water from Big
Beaver Creek to form Lake Avery. I know it says Big Beaver
Reservoir on some maps, but it really is Lake Avery. We have had
some excellent fishing trips to this lake, and the scenery on the
drive up White River is awesome. Fall is spectacular! The graveled
road to the southwest of the spillway leads to the lake and a day
use area with sheltered tables and pit toilets and a boat launch.
The graveled road to the northeast around the corner on county road
8 will take you to some primative but scenic camping areas above
the lake and also a boat launch. A signed branch road leads to East
Beaver Creek.
