There are caches in the parks and open areas all around my favorite town but nothing downtown until now. The coordinates given are the first leg of the puzzle. When you find the information board you will need to do some calculations. A calculator, paper and pencil will come in handy.
1. Find the weight of the block of coal on the Caņon Black Diamond Truck and double it, multiply the year of the first train to Cripple Creek by four, subtract the second number from the first and finally subtract 6642. Change the comma into a decimal point and you will have the north co-ordinates (38° is a given). 2. Find the date the photo of the D&RG depot was taken, multiply by three and add 1386, change the comma to a decimal and you will have the west decimal co-ordinates (again preceded by 105°). Your final destination is about 300 feet away, just a short walk. Enjoy the architecture and small town atmosphere. The cache is not indoors and is available 24/7. It is on private property but the owners are aware of the cache and are co-operating (they even donated the hide, helped with placement and swag). There is a FTF prize and LOTS of swag for all ages (including an empty Orange Crush bottle from the long gone Florence bottling works), plenty of room for big stuff. As usual watch for muggles, the area is fairly quiet but still has some foot and vehicle traffic.

Congratulations to hartsdale for FTF. I thought no one was ever going to look for this, and it's so easy.

Went south today with Huff-Suter and Magnum PSI for some caching. I had solved some puzzles in anticipation of their arrival and today we set out to find them.

Fun puzzle.
