Last one of the day and a GREAT hike and views. Really windy up here this morning. WE left the truck just after 9:00 am and we got back to the truck just after 12:00pm. Fun series of caches. It's starting to get really warm so I'm glad we're done for the day. I grabbed the travelers to move along!! Stamped the log and we're heading for home. [8d][8d] SL TFTC

Favorite point for sure! Great spot for a cache, such a fun trail getting here, and views for miles. Well worth the hike. Such a different variety of areas and terrains all along this trail. As you come across the rim it feels like you could just hike right into the snow covered mountains. Thanks for getting us out here. About 30 minutes after returning to Pueblo, the published alert came through for the next cache in your series...

[FTF] After Concretion I sat for quite a while resting and debating with myself whether or not to go for one more. I weighed the pros and cons (PRO: I will regret it if I don't go, there is an FTF waiting, it's a beautiful trail. CON: It's another 0.6 mile as the crow flies, it's all uphill, I'm going to get sunburned). The pro arguments won and I headed up the hill. I was beginning to doubt that I would ever make it, but after more switchbacks than I could count I finally got there. I found the nice container after a short search, but I did have to look twice because the camo is really good. I signed the FTF spot and added some Get Out of Hell Free cards and two travel bugs.
Although this cache is 0.89 miles from where I parked, the hiking distance must be at least three times that. Throw in an elevation change of around 1000 feet, and that's about the limit of what this old guy can do. I wish I had turned on "tracks" on my GPS so I would know how far I actually hiked. I'm sure glad it was mostly downhill on the way back. I was so happy just to be there I forgot to look for the fossilized worm tracks. This was certainly a memorable cache and worth a favorite point. Thanks for an amazing series!
