From Bangs Canyon staging area head to old mica/quartz mine. Past the mine find the waterfall, then the trail up, it's a little vague. You will cross a trail above, head up the canyon until the trail peters out, about 2 miles past mica mine. Cache is where trail crosses what I believe to be an old cow fence used by early ranchers in conjunction with natural barriers (i.e. boulders, canyon walls, gullies, oak thickets, etc.) to contain cattle long before modern fences were used. I was getting a lot of bounce so coord corrections are welcome

Was hiking in the area today, enjoying the fall colors. Cache is in fine shape.

Celebrated International Geocaching day by hiking to my most remote cache to check on it. Happy caching!

We hiked across snow to get up here. Hard to guess where the trail is with a layer of snow over it. Loved the solitude of the area. T4TC

Took advantage of some of the finest spring weather March has to offer...storm headed in again this weekend. a bit of ice and mud on the way past the waterfall and just a few patches after that. I hiked in shorts and Chacos as it was 70°... Might recommend closed toe boots, tho to protect against the tiny cactus segments and yucca that line sections of the trail. Beautiful area, had it all to ourselves. Took the traveler who had overwintered here... Will move him along. TFTC and incentive to venture further on this trail!

Easily found. A beautiful day to be out hiking! After finding the cache we explored further up the left-hand canyon towards Jacob's Ladder. T:Golf ball. L:Cacher's Paradise Fan TB. SL. T4TC.
