It is amazing what one can find once they leave the cache & dash game behind and branch out on one of our wonderful trails in the Pikes Peak National Forest. I discovered this cabin while hiking the other day, so I thought I would point it out.

All in all, this is a nice resting spot that just happens to be off the beaten path of "Trail 671," which branches off of the Barr Trail on the way to Mountain View, the Cog R/R depot. I do not know the story behind this Cabin, but I suspect at one time it was a great get away location for someone. The way the banks are foreclosing on homes, you better hurry to claim a smiley before the repo man gets this cabin too... Happy Trails!

Was camped at Barr Camp for a few days over the holiday, and decided to explore a bunch of the trails nearby. Found this cache as I was just starting my adventures for the day! What a cool spot!! Thanks for placing this one!

Hiked up to Barr Camp today and picked up a few caches that I have been meaning to get for a long time. Found on ground but covered well. Tftc!

In the area with ernie66 and couldn't possibly not do this cabin cache. As we walked, I was thinking "oh, boy, another so-called cabin in the woods that consists of a couple of logs and a rusted box spring." So I was startled to see this huge and almost completely intact cabin. Very nice. Like others, we found the container on the ground. The squirrel still has a few empty spots left to chew, but not many. Photo attached. Thanks for all your caches up here!

Found with Javachip while looking for a couple of FTF's in the area. Amazing cabin. I've never seen a cabin built with logs that big! TFTC!

Took Cog train to midway point (Mountain View stop) and departed. This trip today is part of a grander plan to get a cache to close out the Elevation 250' challenge. This one was off the beaten path but one I wanted regardless. Made way along 671 trail until I needed to leave trail and bushwack in the snow until reaching the cabin. Awesome awesome hike! Really a great workout without snowshoes, but loved it anyway. Made the cabin and found said cache tucked away to keep critters from munching on the lid as it appears they have tried in the past. Thanks for trail deviation to this cache. Took TB and moved to next cache at Barr Camp.
