The Estes Valley Library was founded in 1916 by the Women's Club, and its 292 books were originally housed in a single room at the local school. By 1922, it was able to move into a dedicated building on Bond Park after the Women's Club raised $5,000, but it once again outgrew its location and moved to its current digs in 1991.

Today's library is the hub of the local community. It offers over 300,000 titles for reading, listening, and watching. In 2007, a computer commons was created on the second floor to provide the town with free Internet access and wifi. Additionally, the Library offers children's literacy programs, hosts cultural events, and provides meeting rooms for local groups to use. Estes Park loves its library!

Remember, if you take something, leave something of equal or greater value. Don't be a cache pirate!

Our family is in Colorado on vacation. Last night we arrived in Estes Park to stay overnight. This morning while my family was sleeping in, I went out to explore some of the town and get a cache or two. Temperature was 18F and there were still inches of snow around from the winter storm a couple of days ago.

As it was just after dawn, there was no one around this area. So I could hunt this cache muggle-free. After a few minutes I had a hunch and I got it. Nice! I SL and picked up a TB to move on. I noticed the warning sign not far away that bears are active in the area, so I chose to not visit that trail today. ;-)

Quick find by Dad Wiggy, our 9th of 10 today. Loved exploring this area with the virtual nearby. One of the things we love best about geocaching is discovering wonderful things we never knew about. Looking to the right of the cache we discovered a little footbridge taking us into the Willow Knoll area - and another cache - and further on a herd of elk. White Pedro traded out a few little trinkets, SL. TFTC.
