A small cache located at the site of a local geologic disruption, BYOP.

On March 4, 2014 at 8pm, a giant chunk of the iconic Lionshead Rock above Minturn came crashing down the steep hillside onto the railroad tracks below. The enormous boulders smashed into the inactive tracks, breaking them apart. The cache is accessible via a short walk along the tracks, parking at or near the park. It is a small container, no room for a pen, so please bring your own. Congrats to Bets46, haniagaj and reschen for FTF!!

Awesome! I kept going back to the same spot but not seeing it. I think the smashed clown was throwing me off. Loved this cache, gave it a fav. Tftc

I had to come by and see the rock that spoiled the railroad line!! Phenomenal! You can see the trail down the hillside it left after coming down. Quite the sight to see at the site of how the rails and bed got upset by the rock. A precursor to come of the rock on the highway to the west of here in Cortez that is now part of the highway.

I was able to make the find with a good hint, but warning! When I pulled it out to sign it, I pulled out one wasp and the starting of a hive with it! They did not get replaced when I replaced the container, but were moved along in their life cycle to not bother cachers again. Thanks for the cache here and filling another county on the CO map.

Spent some time searching and admiring the power of nature but had to move on and wasn’t able to put my hands on it.

There are some caches that just reach out and grab you. This is one cache that did that to me. I enjoy a good sense of humor and this fit the bill. However. When I went out a second time I discovered I didn’t have a pen so I will send the co a picture as proof.
