Dogs  Scenic view  Available during winter  Dangerous Animals

This one is a bit of a hike uphill after leaving the trail.  Its about 600 feet straight up hill to a large Rock outcropping at the top. The only reason why I am rating this a T/4 is there is a small scramble through the slot in the Rock to the cache spot. The rock itself has 4 living Aspen trees growing out of the top of it.  It's best to approach rock from the East, Northeast, were you'll find the slot opening which leads you to the top.  Once up there you have some pretty awesome views!  Please take some pictures, Happy Hunting, and BYOP!

 Hints

All the way to the very to of the boulder, look for Small Tupperware container about the size of an Orange. It's hidden under a small rock overhang that opens facing north, cache is concealed behind another rock.

Super-sweet find for number 1,700. But Bhob beat me to it, for the FTF, by a few hours. Oh well, I took a cool Grand Canyon keychain as a consolation prize. And left a few niceitems of my own. The hiding spot was outstanding!

Time to go for another walk in the open space, before the next snow storm - this was the first of four geocaches that I found along the way. TN-LN-SL. Thanks !

My sincerest apologies to K7 and Wulff Pack. After two DNF's from two accomplished cacher's, Shorty and I decided to take a walk and double check the coordinates, and sure enough for whatever reason we were way off. You are looking for a large rock outcropping that marks the highest point on the ridge, there is a slot in the east side of the rock that requires a brief scramble on all fours. At the top of the rock you will see 4 smaller living Aspen trees. The small container is located under a flat rock right at your feet, partially exposed behind a rock. I've also included a picture of the Rock which the cache is a the top of.

I'm not sure where to start. First, this is a really bouncy location. Almost extreme in an Alice-in-Wonderland sense, going in circles, going crazy. So I went down slope, wandered around I fairly flat area, chasing an elusive GZ. But nothing in the area even remotely matched the description/hint. Finally I looked at the rocks/cliffs I passed on the way to "GZ." Up there? Well, I went for it because it would be a FTF and I don't get many of those. So I slogged up the outcrop from the worst approach (the southeast), looked for something like the description, did not find anything, then moved up to another outcrop that was even higher. OK, I finally got to the top, but now found myself about 400-500' from GZ. And there was nothing like the description "boulder with an overhang facing north." So moved back towards GZ, where there was nothing that looked like the description. Soooo...any chance your coordinates are waaay off? I finally gave up. Maybe some other time.

Frustrating DNF to end the day. After challenging scramble up, did a long search. Looked in every crevice and turned over all rocks at the top. No find. Nice view. K7
