We were caching along Rampart Range Road and decided to make the short hike to grab this one after working on the "pepper series". Quick find. Neat views down the canyon. Signed log and replaced container as found. Thanks for the cache.

Tried to beat the inbound rain for the day on the way to the cache but was not successful. It was not a hard rain, but you can tell there has been a lot of moisture back here because of all the foliage that has taken root and grown around the dead trees. Did not see any saplings though unfortunately.

The ammo can is in good condition where it is hidden, but the contents did suffer during the fire. Was an acrid smell in the container too from the burnt plastic. Other than that, it was a nice walk back there on this day. TFTC today.

Hey 3WK's : Your 5 year sleepy TB is on the go at last !!! Farthest along stop on my hike up Williams, this cache is a story and a half. It didn't get scorched by the Waldo Canyon fire, but it sure got hot. Just above the Gulo cache south of here the fire finally really got into the valley bottom. Now, it is a forest of dead scorched trunks, many of which are broken off at a weird assortment of heights above the ground.
When I pulled the latch on the ammo can, it proved incredibly durable weather-proofness with an audible hiss of air rushing IN !!, and the two large sides bowed outward a good 3/8" with the equalizing pressure.
The log pad is in pristine condition; but just a bit of some plastic-y swag was stuck in one corner. 3WK's travel bug had a small laminated info card attached... it is a bit accordion-warped along one edge, and there is enough soot to give it some real atmosphere -- appropriate for its history, no ???!!
