Festivus

Festivus is on December 23

What does Festivus mean? Festivus is the name of a secular and non-commercial holiday characterized by the raising of an aluminum pole, the serving of a dinner, the airing of grievances, and the demonstration of feats of strength.

There are five essentials to a Festivus celebration.

To stay authentic, one must have an aluminum pole, meatloaf on a bed of lettuce for dinner, a gathering to air your grievances, at least one Festivus miracle, and, last but not least, a Festivus wrestling match.

Originally created by author Daniel O'Keefe, Festivus entered popular culture after it was made the focus of the 1997 Seinfeld episode "The Strike", which O'Keefe's son, Dan O'Keefe, co-wrote.

A stand alone pole is in place for your holiday pleasure, no matter the month.  Your Feat of Strength, to get to this cache  will depend on if your know how roundabouts work and how to be stealthy.  Searching during an event at the Budweiser Event Center, I mean Blue Arena might not be the best time to go.  Maybe that's a grievance, the name change.  Air your grievances in your log. Get those grievances off your chest for the new year! Don't worry about insulting your fellow cachers. They'll understand.

The Festivus episode of Seinfeld still is funny after all these years.

Merry Christmas. In between opening gifts and solving a mystery puzzle, and a family dinner, I found the time to head out after a few caches. This one actually ticks boxes for two challenges I am working on. One to fill a 365 calendar with caches of an unknown size, and the other to fill a 365 calendar by date placed with caches of an unknown size. Many thanks for the hide.

TNT noticed this one was published but we were pretty caught up in the activities of the day. While we were she mentioned it a bit later but other obligations had to come first. We joked that if we were on the good list perhaps the FTF would be waiting, if not I guess we were naughty! It wasn't until late evening until we could go grab this one. Had a good laugh at the write up of course and have to agree, the comedy of Festivus holds up to this day. Lucky for us we didn't have to air any grievance with this cache! TNT pulled right up, and walked right up ahead of me for an instant find before any real searching was involved otherwise. Turns out we must have been on the nice list this year and a blank log was waiting for us. A Festivus miracle indeed! We celebrated by laughing about Fesitvus and warmed up a bit while heading back home, proud of the night cache mini adventure. Thanks for making that possible and of course TFTC! Always a pleasure to find a Jbullfrog62 hide.
