Approx. 75 yds. from highway on good gravel road. Short walk on prairie type terrain to cache. Slithery creatures could be present in season. Be watchful for anything that rattles!

Buckingham Palace

This cache is located in the ghost town of Buckingham, Co. This is one of many abandoned towns along Highway 14, stretching from Sterling to Fort Collins. Most of these towns were supported by a railroad economy. Since the rail has been removed, not much is available for an economy. At one time it boasted a bank, general store, of course the saloon/bar and cafe. From the count of foundations, I see about 12 major buildings. Be careful if you are exploring, there are two 20-30' deep cisterns 75 yds. to the west of the cache.

This cache is located in the incinerator of the old bank. Should be an easy find, but be careful reaching into places in the summer. You never know who's taking a slumber or cooling their scales in the heat of the season. Jack rabbits are in abundance also.

Of note this cache is along the Pawnee National Grassland. A view 10 miles to the north will reveal the Twin Buttes. A prominent feature of the Grassland. There are two caches to the west (approx. 14 miles) north of another retreating town, Briggsdale. And another cache 20 miles to the east close to Stoneham.

As usual hide as good or better.

We are staying in Brush until the storm passes and decided to venture out and grab some caches. SL, TFTC!!! Love the remote caches! The cache was there, but the lid was missing, tried to block it with a brick.

@windatmyback and I undertook an amazing adventure yesterday... 150 caches in one day. Caches were generally in great shape. Some had wet logs. Thanks to all who placed caches along this power trail in Northern Colorado and Wyoming. Tftc!

The cache location came up on Taw and me sooner than expected. With a semi coming up behind us we had to drive by the site until we could safely slow down and turn around. Made the find and got back on an empty road.
