Night cache key

July 2016 Geocaching Colorado Geocache of the Month

This cache is designed to be done at night.

Here is how night caches work. Bring a powerful flashlight. A bright headlamp will work, but a AAA penlite probably won't. Go to the listed coordinates and look for two small, white reflective dots nearby. To find the cache, simply follow the trail of reflective dots using the key below.

From some dots, you may not be able to see the next dot immediately so you may need to move forward or sideways a bit. Don't be distracted by other types of reflective markers; all the ones associated with this cache are small and white.

The entire cache is within the boundaries of Fox Run Park. The Park is open from 5 AM to 11 PM. Expect a walk of about 1/2 mile round trip.

Hiking off-trail through the forest at night can be very disorienting and there are no markers for the return trip. Make sure you have a spare light and know how to use your GPSr to return.

Look in the logbook for the clue to the Bonus Cache 66 Minutes Past Midnight.

Found tonight In the Full moon. It’s was very crisp in the pines tonight. Up from Florida visiting a friend. We both met thru caching in Ga and both moved away. Tonight we mentioned how much fun we had caching. We both had not cached much since he moving here and me to Florida. Parking was great. Off we went. Soon we found the prize. Took nothing more than a picture and signed the log. I will caching more again. It was so much fun tonight.

My buddy BB was in town and we had to pick up a few smilies even though we don't get out in the woods like we used to! I think we might have missed a couple reflectors but we were still able to stay on track and get to the final. Tftc we had a blast!

Delightful late night excursion with Flattered Crab, ScarlettSapphire and WithScarlettSapphire. Great cache!

What a fun adventure! It seemed like there was a mark or two missing in the middle, but with a bright light and good instincts, we found the trail again. TFTC!

Our first night cache! We couldn’t find one of the turn signals but luckily StartledSandpiper had a very bright flashlight & found one off in the distance & the path was easy to follow from there. ??for this fun cache.

We were staying nearby so a group of us set out to find our first night cache. Thanks for the excellent adventure. Favorite point!

Found this one despite the children's protests to turn back, forgot to grab the coordinates for the bonus so we'll have to return another night. Thanks for a thrilling find!!!

Although I found this cache almost 7 years ago, I had to redo it to progress to the bonus cache. The course and final are still in great shape after all these years. It seemed shorter than I remember, but still great fun. TFTC.

Stopped by today for maintenance. Replaced wet log, restored one of the final reflectors, and added a TB. Note that there is an anthill in the stump with the final container - be careful when retrieving it.

My first night cache!!! This has been in the planning stages for quite some time, so I was nearly devastated when I thought my flight back to CO was potentially going to be delayed/cancelled. Thankfully, everything worked out in the end and we arrived at the park just as night was falling! What a fun style of cache! Had a total blast wandering around! Thanks for placing this one!

Wow! Thanks for placing this great cache! This is one of those that have been on my list for so long!

I headed to Denver to pick up Kerewin0430 from the airport from her return trip to TX. After a stop for dinner and a few caches we headed homeward. With the dying light of day it was the perfect opportunity to swing by here for some more caches. Night caches even! Having never done one Kerewin was very excited to give it a try. We parked facing just right so you could see the first several markers in the headlights.

We set out with flashlight in hand following the trail easily through the woods. I was pretty surprised at how long this one was! For some reason I had it in mind that it would be shorter. We finally arrived at the final GZ and made the quick find. A quick high five and a picture for the next cache. Signed and stamped the log and replaced as found.

All is well here! Thanks again for this amazing night cache! Glad I finally got the chance to roam around the area at night. It's very quiet and peaceful!
