Merry Christmas 2015 !


We placed this ammo can in the woods after paying our $10 fee to the US Forest Service to get the permit for our Christmas Tree for 2015. The small Douglas Fir tree that we got was very close to the cache location.
Snow may make this one harder to find.

Straightforward cache -- ammo can in the woods. There is a waypoint for parking also listed, which was as far as the vehicles could get when we planted the cache, due to snow preventing driving further up that Forest Service Road spur.

We hope everyone has a great Holiday Season with friends and family.

We have made a small family tradition of getting our Christmas Tree from the Pike National Forest each December, and placing a geocache at the same time. This was our second year of doing so -- last year, very close to this spot, we placed Perfect Christmas Tree (GC5HFNE)

Haven't been this far north on Rampart Range Road in a few years. Was a great parking spot and the cache wasn't far off. No trouble finding it. TFTC

Drive south down Rampart to get to Woodland Park, for a change of scenery. Great drive except for the washboard road. Nice break and hike for this one.

TFTC I came up to Rampart Range from Woodland Park to find some caches with geobuddy, nicehice. It was a nice sunny morning. The roads were a bit rough but the recent rains at least kept the dust down.

It is always good to find a couple more of the 3 Williams Kidz caches. This one is in good shape.

Looks like a great place to find a Christmas tree. We are usually in Texas for the winter so we miss the trees in the snow.
