Parking available  Short hike (less than 1km)

This is an add-on to a series.  When the Smoky Hill neighborhoods were developed decades ago it included several small neighborhood parks nestled away among the houses, most not on a city street.  This one is in Piney Creek but very much the same type of thing.

What it is now is a catch (cache) basin for rainwater control.  This cache is a camo'd pill bottle approx 2"X3".   Contains a log, wooden FTF coin and a few other coins.  Street parking on Crestline/Helena; be careful going down the hill towards the cache.  Field has been recently mowed but I expect there will be times during the summer when the grass and weeds get pretty high.

Congratulations to LostinDenver for FTF!

I was seeking some winter-friendly caches this morning, a cold and bright Saturday. It's three days after the "blizzard cyclone bomb of 2019." This cache piqued my interest, as I always love a cache with a good pun! The location was very nice too - a babbling brook, although human made, also added to the idyllic ambiance. I came prepared with my snow boots and had a blast crunching through the snow that had an icy glaze to the top, yet it was soft and fluffy underneath.

Arriving at ground zero I realized this was probably a rock hide - probably not the best geocache for this time of year. Still, I thought I would give it a good search since I was already here. After my hands were frozen solid, and I thought I turned over every rock that wasn't completely stuck to the ground, I decided to look one last place on my way out. Yippee, this was #6's glorious hidey hole! This was a lot of fun, and so rewarding to find. There was a little froggy in the cache that captured my sentiments exactly, so I had to take a pic.
Thanks for this fun cache! I'm adding a fav point. And have a great St. Patrick's day!
Cheers!

I came the long way across the basin. As I approached GZ, a certain pattern caught my eye. Despite the snow, this was a quick find. Thank you for the series!

Apparently I am no longer able to find a cache without being accompanied by the lovable and always cheerful herndonrd. Today was no exception, as I was out and about caching with herndonrd simply because I make him look good. Usually, he finds the caches while I look in all the wrong places. We were on a special mission today as he had already found every cache we searched for, and acted as my geo-sherpa today. I appreciated the assistance as I was aiming to find exactly 28 caches to satisfy the requirements of one of the many challenges I signed eons ago. This one was right where the cache owner (i.e. you) left it.

Hooray!

After we did the whole sign and replace thing here we celebrated our victory by hopping back into the car and driving off to another one. Thanks for the fun hide and for getting me outside on such a beautiful day.

P. S. No animals (humans or otherwise) were harmed in the writing of this log.

P. P. S. Log was wet but signable.

We decided to take a break from moving back into our house from so many months gone and went caching and what a great day we had. Thanks to all the hiders for such great finds and maintaining them as we know how much work that can be. The weather was near perfect also. TFTC
