In 1806 Lt. Zebulon Pike was sent on an expedition to survey and map the Southern boundaries of the recently purchased Louisiana Territories. In January of 1807 Pike and his men passed not far from this spot.

This was the 3rd cache on our first day GC'ing! Location was easy, but the micro took some looking to locate! Signed the log. TFTC! We have passed this POI before, but never stopped until now....an interesting bit of local history we did not know about...

The o-ring on the micro has split and needs replacing.

Oh well this was going to be the last one after a long hot day on Oak Creek Grade geocaching. Stopped and had the wife hope out and look around then I joined in. Kid stayed in the Jeep and started getting fussy so after about five minutes we called it so we could go get some ice cream. I look at this as a good reason to come back again another day. Can't win them all
