Ring The Peak Cache Series

This is 1 of 15 caches placed along the Ring The Peak trail system. Each cache in the series has a permanent clue located underneath the lid. The clue consists of one letter and number (think "scrabble piece") that leads to the final cache: Ring The Peak .

Please bring a pen and paper to write down the clue, and be sure to note if the letter is underlined or not.

An excellent source for trail information can be found here. Once you're within 500' of the cache, look for a junction of two trails at : N 38° 52.258 W 104° 56.589. Follow the spur trail off the RTP loop for the cache and a little further down the spur for the view.

We didn’t read previous logs before our hike today, so we didn’t get the code to write on the replacement log. Sorry. :o(
Container and log are secure in their hiding place and in good shape.

I checked in with a few people but didn't get a response while in the field so the cache is still missing the code. 2 more in this series and then I can finally get final. Tftc!

This was our destination today. My son is trying to complete the RTP series before leaving the Springs for Texas in July. Took a long (3-hour) dog walk on the Ute Trail, which technically is closed because of pipeline work . But it's Sunday and they're not working . Nice relief from the swarms of people on the Incline. Found the replacement cache in good condition. Did not check logs before going so we did not know about the code. Wish we had. Darn! Left an A-Basin bottle opener.

Errr. Sorry, I didn't decide to look for this one in time to ask for the code. It was a great day to be exploring along the UPT. Thanks for placing a cache here.

As KJKlock noted we had to replace the container but did not get the code in time before hiking on down the trail & we made this a loop so did not return past this cache. If you plan to hike to this cache please contact me & KJKlock before going & maybe one of us will get you the code soon enough & you can put it in the container.

We went out on a fun hike with Back Country Horsemen along the Ute Pass Trail. We hiked for 12 miles over 6 hours and found 10 caches along the way.

We found a signature poker chip by a very likely hiding spot, but no cache container. We expanded our search and did not find the cache. We considered leaving a replacement container, but did not have the code for inside, so she contacted a previous finder for the info. We ended up leaving a cammoed Altoids tin as a replacement container in the likely hiding spot and placed the poker chip inside. We didn't get a response on the code until we had moved up the trail quite a bit, so if the next finder contacts us or Back Country Horsemen before they go, we will give them the code to add to the inside of the cache.

This is day 1318 of our current daily caching streak (day 22 of our Mystery Cache streak). Thanks again for helping us to extend our streak by another day.

TFTC!
