My Secret South Platte River Fishing Spot!!
Well I guess it's not so secret now! Ha! While out on a recent hiking and fishing trip I had a few containers in my pack and decided to drop a few.
This cache is located at the end of the trail where public fishing begins again for the South Platte river. I've always loved this section of water as it's rarely fished and is a great spot for both Fly and Spinning Rods. You can find an assortment of Rainbow, Brown, and Brook trout. Typically I'll head downstream for about a half mile to mile before starting. The water is amazing here! Summer camping is also available at several spots that have been built up by previous campers. If you're not into either fishing or camping, enjoy this beautiful hike and enjoy some time by the river.
The cache is a camo'd bison tube hanging about waist high on the west side of the pine tree.
