Thanks! On the 12th and 13th, Hortcacher and I made this way too hard. Enjoyed the miles of walking and the scenery.

Aarrgghhh!! This search was quite an adventure but I can't tell the story as it is apparently too long. This is my 5th try to log and even the short log that is shorter than most I do is lost in space. If the CO would like more information, contact me and I can do an e-mail with details. The short version is we had a lot of challenges, mostly of our own making, but we signed the log in the end. TFTC!

Found with Nyvlak on a beautiful Colorado day. We enjoyed following the instructions to get here. The man who was camping near the old location was very interested in learning where the container was. He said he'd looked and hadn't found it.
Great location for the final. Thanks for the fun!

Wow! This is by far one of my favorite caches of all time. Good job on the way a Letterbox is supposed to work. Thank you for all of it and maintaining for so many years. It's a Jasmer cache for me!
We made quick work of WP1 and then drove as far as we could based on the clues until we hit a wire fence. Some metric conversion was needed to get this far but overall not hard to do. Everything made sense. We made friends with a nice man camping with his dog up here as we had to cross his campsite. With this great of a view of Pike's Peak, this guy had it all figured out!!!
We found the original container (kind of - see pic) and then made the way to the final location from there. Again, this is one of my favorites ever. Good work.
BroncoCole and GeoDogLukeCole found this at 10:09 AM. Thank you, vorticity, for placing the cache. Cheers!

What a cool cache. Neat way to give directions to the letterbox. When going to the final, Nerak2001 and I saw a guy camping on the ridge above where the letterbox was supposed to be, so we swerved to avoid him, as we figured he wanted to be alone. He spotted us and asked if we were geocachers!!!! "Yes" we said. He told us he had seen another geocacher that very morning who found the cache and had shown him the picture of the really interesting letterbox, so he wanted to help us find it. Turned out he is interested in geocaching, but hasn't had time to do a lot of it, didn't even have a geo-name...we soon fixed that. So down the ridge we went. Between the 3 of us we found it....well, the newb geocacher who is now called Yeroc his name spelled backwards actually found it. He was so excited it was cute. We all signed the log and I put my butterfly stamp in to make it official. I say again, what a cool cache and it was great to meet a cacher in the making. This def makes my fave list, and it is my official 400th cache. Thanks for putting it out there!

I had forgotten entering this cache in the GPSr, so hadn't planned to look for this one today. It showed up on screen and it was such a beautiful morning I added it to today's adventure. It was fun following the directions. Obviously my metric skills are a bit rusty, but after switching the units to metric met with success. Haven't seen a container like that before. Picked up the TB since it has been there over a year. Thanks for putting this cache together.

In September, icezebra11 and I had a marvelous 2 days of cache finding in the Woodland Park area and in the high country south of Pikes Peak. We shared some great caching experiences as we found some superb caches, including this one, the first of our trip. After returning home, Denali50 and I went on a 1-month trip, immediately followed by several surgeries to recondition my body for its future. I'm now happy to be logging caches found prior to the trip.
I enjoy LBH caches, and this was a special one because it is laid out using the tenants of a good LBH. We enjoyed the hike in to the wonderful hiding location, where we signed (but didn't stamp because of no ink pad) the log book. It was a nice beginning to 2 days of memorable caching. Thanks for starting us off so well, Vort!

TFTL! Traded TBs, SL. COTD.
I flew in to Denver, where flyfshrboy picked me up, and we made our way south. We won a fly fishing trip from the South Platte Fly Shop, so I decided to find some unique caches. I had on my wellies, so I was not exactly in the proper footwear for the final descent/ascent. Nevertheless, I plodded on and made the grab. Regrettably, I left my letterboxing stuff on the counter, which means I had no ink pad and neither does the cache. I traced the stamp image on the direction card, and then drew a colorful picture of a fly.

My friend Denali41 and I completed a fun two day roadtrip to the Woodland Park, Cripple Creek, and Gold Camp Rd areas focused on finding a lot of really wonderful challenge caches and we also scored some other great caches along the way.
This LBH was our first cache of the trip and it started us out right. With the instructions in hand we made our way to the point where the fence blocked further travel. So we set out down the old road and then made the short descent to the cache location. The final is safe and sound.
Thanks Vort for this nice traditional style LBH!!!
