Let's Play Poker

How to Play

(Eech cache may be logged by itself.  There is no need to play to log any cache in this series)

This is a series of caches that has many different routes and will last forever with new hands coming out.  So, get ready to Play some Poker.

Hidden around the Colorado Springs, Manitou and surrounding areas will be hidden the standard 52 cards in a deck.  In order to use a card you must find it and log it.  Once you find the card, it is forever yours and you can use it at any "Hand" as long as it is not alrady in the hand.  The higher ranked cards will of corse be harder to find :)

Also placed around town are "Hands"

Each 'hand' contains five cards and are played like Texas Hold'em.  You are allowed to replace up to two cards with any of the ones you have found.  The best five cards win.  For Example:

You find Hand #1 - Which is:

5 of Diamonds, Ace of Hearts, 7 of Diamonds, King of Clubs and 6 of Diamonds.

The BEST hand you could have is the 9 of Diamonds and the 8 of Diamonds.

You may only use cards you have found to make a better hand...

You do not need to win in order to log any cache, However

On the log wirte best hand you can make and see how you rank...

There will be prizes hidden randomly throughout the hands and if you cannot beat the previous hand you cannot take the prize.

See if you can get the "BEST HAND" on every hand played.

Don't forget to HAVE FUN!!!

We had made plans to attend the Creation Celebration: Woodland Park Create-a-Cache Event, and stay overnight to work on our Creative Carnival Souvenirs Happily we earned all of our souvenirs early on, but decided to follow through with our plans. We had a very lovely weekend in the Colorado Springs area with beautiful weather and fun caches. We also had a great time at the event learning some new things, winning some amazing items, putting some faces to names and making some new friends!!. Very nice hide and camo, SL,TFTC

Thank you nickrappazini for placing this cache for our enjoyment.

Quick find. Left a new log in a baggie, but also left the old one in the cache. TFTC

As previous finders have written in their logs, the container is broken and the log is on the ground. We had a camoed pill bottle with us but not a fresh log, so we signed the wet, frozen log and placed it in the new container in a “nook” on the ground. If the next finder could bring a new log and baggie, this cache should be good to go for a long time. Thanks for the cache.

It was after midnight, but this had an easy D/T rating, so why not? I had a shiny new flashlight to try out...after a few minutes though, I checked the cache page and previous logs. That's when I started looking outside the box, and sure enough, I found part of the lid to the pill bottle and the log laying out in the open. I didn't find the rest of the container anywhere. Looks like this needs a visit from the cache owner to put everything back together.
