A cache near Trinchera Saddle in honor of my Border Collie, Jessie.
I knew Jessie was special when, at 5 months old, a few hours after we'd picked her up from the ranch, she carried the empty plastic bowl we'd used as a makeshift water bowl for her, from the kitchen to the living room and dropped it at our feet. "More water, please." Her ability to communicate in ways (dumb) people could understand, and to confirm that she understood our words, still amazes me. Many times she saved me from getting lost when hiking near Trinchera and other parts of Southern Colorado.
Trinchera Saddle has a great view in all directions. We've frequently taken summer guests there while they were visiting, or made a detour to the top when hunting mushrooms. It's also a great hike. Whether you're traveling by foot or by 4x4, you'll first want to navigate to Trinchera Saddle. From there the cache is northeast and down the slope a bit, out of the wind.

Congratulations to johnsonny for FTF!
