Bushwhacked from the main trail and after a while intersected a small trail that wasn’t on our geomap. Who knew? Followed the trail and made the short scramble to the cache. Thank heavens for spoiler photos ! Sat on a rock a watched an eagle soar above us. Thanks for bringing us here!

Out for a chilly day of hiking with GoMRT. Didn't see a lot of views, but being socked in fog ALL day (and not getting rained on!) was a cool experience. The mountain goat had this one in hand before I even got to the spot I was heading to check. Thanks for placing this cache!

Epic cachin' day! The temps were down, clouds shrouded everything, no rain and good company to hike with. Miles of trails today made the post-hike nachos taste better!
Thankfully, the rocks weren't slick to search on. Was able to search quickly and find the cache as wanted for signing. Temps were dropping so signed and exited, stage left. Thanks for the hide up here!

I drug myself up there today. Very hot up here today too. Very nice hide and managed to climb down without too much damage. Beautiful views. Tftc!

For several weeks icezebra11 and I have talked about getting out together for a day of cache-finding. Today it happened; we drove down from northern Colorado and had a great time hunting down caches in the hills above Manitou Springs! We started the day on the Red Mountain trail and ended with a long hike on the Section 16 trail system. We found some great caches, took in a brief afternoon rain spatter and hail flurry, and had a fun, memorable day together. Each of the caches was hidden in a marvelous location, and some required a bit of dedicated work to reach them. All-in-all, a super day of geocaching. Thanks to each of the cache owners for hiding and maintaining the caches we found!
I had not looked at this puzzle before we made the hike, so relied on icezebra11's having solved it. However, once home I quickly came up with the solution coordinates. Now finding it, on the other hand, was quite a challenge! We both made diligent searches in the calculated GZ area and came up empty. After a more thorough search, we eventually found the very well-hidden cache container! We celebrated and penned our caching names on the log sheet. THANKS!!!

A couple weeks ago Denali41 and I made plans to travel south today to the Pike's Peak/Colorado Springs area to go after a bunch of caches, starting at the top of the peak and working our way back down the mountain toward CS. Last night I texted my son who lives in the Springs that we'd be there today and asked if he wanted to hike with us in the Devil's Playground area. He said "good luck" because the Hill Climb was happening today. So we had to alter our plan to eliminate all the caches above the toll booth. We still had a full day of caching, as we fully expected we wouldn't be able to get to all the caches on the target list, even without the caches on PP.
After making a nice hike to Redstone Castle we headed for Sec. 16 Open Space. We had quite a few caches targeted both high and low and we decided to go high first, hoping to get as far as Third Stone from the Sun. Somewhere along the way we made the detour for this cache. We ended up taking a route that definitely was not the easiest! But we made it to GZ and with a fair bit of searching (we didn't have the spoiler pics with us), we finally located this well hidden cache. Thanks colorado gypsies!!!

Okay. The cache is now a legit (if fairly lame) puzzle cache.
