Thomas Edison

In 1871, Edison invented the Universal Stock Printer.

This vastly improved on the original ticker invented by Edward Calahan.

His most significant improvement was a mechanism that enabled all of the tickers
on a line to be synchronized so that they printed the same information.

Edison's ticker was used on the stock exchange for several years before being replaced,
but it continued to be used until about 1960 for many other purposes, including the transmission of sports scores.

Cache #139 found. This was another great grab and dash spot, but there were a number of people out back of the thrift store so had to be a little more sly than normal. Log is full and unfortunately I did not have some extra paper in my truck today. TFTC.
