This challenge cache honors my favorite holiday: Halloween.  I have fond memories of this holiday as a child and as an adult I still enjoy it.  I hope that you find new places and meet new people while fulfilling the challenge requirements.  Happy Geocaching!

CHALLENGE!  You will need to attend 10 Event Caches and find 31 EACH of these cache types: Earthcache, Letterbox Hybrid, Multi-cache, Traditional, Unknown (Mystery), and Virtual.

Out caching with FeartheFish which means me driving his butt all over the place. In the area so decided to sign the log for when I complete the challenge. Still need a few letterboxes and quite a few earthcaches.

YES!! I remember when I first saw this - probably about the time it came out. I thought - hey, there's a challenge that shouldn't be too hard, right!? I mean, 31 isn't THAT many caches is it? Well, turns out it is! At least for me. I haven't worked on this super hard, but it has been gnawing at me over the past several years. I was short on quite a bit - EarthCaches, Letterbox, Multi-Caches and Virtuals. And Events! I chipped away at it here and there. Always having that magic "31" number in the back of my mind with my stats.

Although I know I could've "found" the cache and signed the log, I wanted to wait until I fully qualified to do a search.

A little earlier this year I was in reach of completing the challenge. I had found enough Events, Multis and Virtuals, but I was still short on Letterboxes and Earthcaches. We had a trip planned to California earlier this month (Monterey/Carmel/Santa Cruz) and I had scoped out a short power trail of letterboxes (four) and saw that there were several Earthcaches - enough to make me fully qualify (finally!) for this challenge.

I have taken a little mini-break since coming back (a week) from caching as work has been crazy. But, my wife needed to pick up our kids from my parents house and the dog needed some exercise so we headed down here.

After walking to GZ we started to search. And we searched. And we searched some more. Both sides. Up and down, looking all over the place. I had a pretty good idea of what I was searching for but I just couldn't spot it! I debated about PAF but no one I knew had found it recently enough. Finally, I expanded my search to a different area, turned around and spotted it. I have to tell you, that felt REALLY good! After working long and hard and needing caches from trips to multiple states (CO, KS, WI, CA) to qualify, this really felt like quite an achievement. To others, I know they blew by this a long time ago. But for me, it was a great victory.

TFTCC I come to the Colorado mountains for the cool climes at higher elevations. As I discovered on our way out of the mountains things are heating up a bit. My better half and I came to Denver to have dinner with our kids and granddaughter. On the way I stopped for this challenge cache.

Over the years I have always snickered at those cachers who had no pen with them. Today I joined their ranks and can only provide a photo of the log to show I was there. I also have a picture of the container, but thought that would spoil the fun.
