Easy walk from the road to the cache with interesting rock formations and nice views.
This cache will reward those looking for it with views of the Tarryall mountains and surrounding country.

It is a short walk, cross country to the cache from Forest Road 211. The cache is an Altoids tin, painted black, hidden in a rock nook at the base of a rock outcropping. Original contents include a log and a pencil.

Access is off of Forest Road 211. The road is passable to most cars. Four wheel drive or high clearance not required.

My son, his uncle and I hid this cache while camping in the area. This weekend was the twelth anniversary of the 'Boys Only Birthday Campout' and we decided to hide this cache. The campout is one that my son and I have looked forward to since he turned three and when asked what he wanted to do for his birthday, said he wanted to go camping. We have not missed a birthday! Only 'boys' are allowed on this annual event. We have cherished this tradition for a long time, and hope to continue for a long time.

The date was too good to pass up which was what we decided to name the cache.

Hope you enjoy the area as much as we did.

Didn't find it 04/28/2019 By Parkerobber
Staying at nearby Lost Valley Ranch for the weekend with a group from my private high school community. I had some free time before dinner after rushing to Helen’s Rock to try to get some photos of the valley and the weather that was moving in, so I explored some of the roads back here and tried to find a few caches.

I didn’t have cell service and hadn’t downloaded anything except the coordinates, difficulty, terrain, and size of this cache. I’m not sure the extra details would have helped, as there aren’t a lot of nooks in these particular rocks.

Found cache on the ground about 30 feet from what seemed to be the caches original hide. Log was wet, let it dry for a few minutes in the morning sun. Put it back in its original spot(?). Owner may want to check. thanks for the cache.

Nice day for a picnic in the hills with the family and some caching along the way. Found it at the foot of the rock. If it was supposed to be in a niche, it has fallen out or been moved. Put it back where we found it. Signed log, took nothing. I had pesos and yen with me, left one. TFTC!
