Our second " Live Life Like Someone Left the Gate Open" takes you to a year around accessible cache in a great area to 4 wheel drive, hike, cycle, snowshoe or nordic ski.  Gates are fun to swing on, so this mini cache takes advantage of swinging. It's a log only, BYOP.  No need to remove the cache, you'll see why, please swing it back into place and hide.

Entering the area, you will see a yellow caution sign (photo attached). This was an historic military weapons use area for warfare training.  The 10th Mountain Division trained nearby for WWII, lodging at Camp Hale.  The sign cautions not to touch unknown items that could harm or kill you and actions to take if you find something.  Please read.

We have been in this area numerous times snowshoeing, hiking and four wheeling and have yet to see anything suspicious. We found this site a fews back when our annual theme was "The Fun Begins Where the Pavement Ends."

In the winter months you will be forced to park further down the trail due to the snow. It's a beautiful scene to snowshoe or nordic. In summer/fall you can drive all the way up with a high clearance vehicle or park lower and hike.

We have included a photo of the mini cache you are seeking.  It is purchased directly from Groundspeak and recognizable.

Do not look on the ground.

There is another cache close by on the Ditch side.  The short hike to it affords some interesting rock formations.

Congrats and huge thanks to leadrock for FTF. The additional coordinates will be of help I'm certain. Our Garmin is usually accurate yet in the trees it can be a challenge. Thanks again! We might need to catch up when we're back in PBville.

Out with Geowife picking up a few north of Leadville. My GPS bounced around a bit and finally settled down near GZ. I looked around a bit and there it was in front of my face. TFTF

It's been over a month since this one has been placed and yet NO LOGS. Decided to come out and change that. Trusted the GPS but it was about 40 ft off when we finally decided to look at the obvious location. N 39 21.323. W 106 21.195 may help the next cacher. SL. TFTC.
