Steep climb up to the summit of Eagle Peak. Good thing we took the gentler trail back down! Found the container out in the open next to a tree with lots of muggle signatures in the log. Re-hid container in the rocks about 10’ below the trail. Thanks for keeping this almost 17 year old cache alive!

Pleasant surprise. I didn't even think to check for caches when I set out for the hike. TFTC!

Note: there is a much nicer trail if one continues a bit further in the meadow below and look for a much fainter trail that follows the curve of the mountain southwards. It is marked with cairns. The well-worn path marked with blue blazes is ugly, badly eroding, with lousy footing that causes others to just erode more of the mountain.

Nice hiding spot! It was very windy at the summit, but this spot was more sheltered. Great views of the base and parking lot. Cache in great shape!

Nice quick hike this morning, grateful to have stayed on the trail the whole time (unlike the hilarious, grueling other hike a group of us did a few months ago)! Got the heart rate up, and had crystal clear views at the top! Someone else has appreciated this view, too, as apparently they had carried a chair up to the summit, hahaha! The cache was in plain sight, but took a couple minutes because signal was bouncing so much. Thanks for placing this one!

I haven't been up here since I was a cadet - and geocaching wasn't a thing back then. Somehow, it was more fun today... BigSmile

Great day to play outside. TNLNSL. TFTC!

Had a few hours before sunset to attempt this trail and needed all of them. OK, I admit, I was lured up here by a different nearby geocache (Tito's Bandito), but I kept going past Tito because...well how could you not continue to the top after the strenuous climb up the creek? Wherever possible I used my geodog (Loki) to hep pull me up the steep climb, cut him loose when the climb got too steep. Snowpacked from the upper half of creek and beyond. Couldn't believe the cadets and other kids slip-sliding in the other direction (down) wearing tennis shoes. Me, I was quite happy to be wearing my steel-toed work boots.

Made it to the top about 630PM. Looked around a bit, snapped a couple photos, then it occurred to me that I was still getting reception, so I checked, and sure enough, c.geo showed me there was a cache about 150 feet from where I was standing. The hike down to the cache was treacherous with the snow, but i found it quickly and dropped a TB. Made it back to trailhead at 745PM (dark) after a successful hunt for Tito.

Thanks for a great caching experience!

#2,487. ohhhhh myyyy!!!! well, the Chief came into town to see his favorite Cadet daughter for parents weekend at the Academy!! We thought, ohhh, there are 5 geocaches up around Eagles Peak, we could get a couple!! HA!! yesterday we hiked a long way and only had a DNF. Today, we headed straight here! I am not sure what it takes to assign a difficulty of 5 for terrain, but this one sure takes a workout to get too!! did grab the TB, and will post that info soon. plus a picture!! This gives such an awesome views!!! just didn't look for any others up here, have things to do this evening. Thanks sooo much for placing this cache!!!! SL T4T$
