Cowboy was trying to make Dolores before dark but the shortening days of winter caught him out in the open.and a cloudburst drenched him . He decided that hot meal at the saloon would have to wait until morning. He needed a fire to dry out his clothes and to make a pot of hot coffee.  When Cowboy opened his saddlebags, his matches were soaked.  Cowboy had to resort to striking his knife against a flint rock to send a spark to the dry gunpowder he had taken from a 44 cartridge
The cache is a small camo container with a log and some McPhee jewels.

We're on a trip from Michigan to see the Grand Canyon with many stops along the way. Spending a couple of days in Cortez to see Mesa Verde and rest up, so we had to grab a few cache. Nice series.

A very cool cache. I looked right at it and kept looking. After looking a little more, I went back and looked harder and thought about it. Very neat!
