When I first arrived in Colorado, I was looking for a good place to hide a cache.
Imagine my amusement when I discovered a mountain top of my own. 
I knew I had to put a cache there. Two years later, I finally completed that quest!

... and after another year, I've gone back and loaded the area with each size.

This one is the micro-sized.

Except for the Regular and Large container's, which are ammo cans, you're looking for a theme to the other three.

It's a micro, but you're not looking for any typically-shaped container.

Please replace the cover so it's semi-protected from critters, weather and the chance-muggle.

Please be careful. There are many loose rocks that otherwise appear to be very stable.

SKuLL Rock

SKuLL Rock is a 7,126 ft mountain peak near Deckers, Colorado.

It's just West of South Platte River at the intersection of Hwy67 and Hwy126.

It ranks as the 3,768th highest mountain in Colorado and the 13,424th highest mountain in the United States.

Parked at the Deckers store and walked down here with spouse and son and two geodogs, then up the steep slope past the bridge. A fairly quick find after climbing up a 50 degree slope that seemed to be coated with a layer of marbles. I'll be back for the other Skull caches soon.

It was a gorgeous day for a hike on SKuLL Rock. I was accompanied by youkfish and the cache owner (THeSKuLL). This was my first find of the day.

Today was our day to conquer Skull Rock and find all six of the SkuLL Rock caches!!
Unfortunately we only found five of the six. (Guess which one eluded us--ha!) This micro cache was well-hidden and sadly missing its "beady eyes", but we were happy to find it anyway. SL Replaced as found. Thanks for this fun series!

Guessing the route to get down from the EC was tricky. I ended up a bit too far south & at one point was over looking Deckers so I adjusted my route going over yet another ridge. Just a few moments later the rain started so I found a decent tree to stay under while I changed my GPS batteries which of course had died just as I needed them & put on my jacket. I was pretty hot so the cool rain felt good to a point. I got lucky and it quit. On my way to GZ i saw a really cool Glory hole. This cache only took me a few minutes to find & soon I was down to the car as the first bolts of lightning struck the ridge above the river the rain also started coming down in earnest. The whole hike & 6 caches took me 2 hours & 45 minutes which was much less than i was expecting.
