Takes less than an hour  Not Available during winter  Hunting  Not Wheelchair accessible

When you get paid to be on standby status (translation: paid to sit in your truck all day), you try to find the most comfortable place to 'standby'. We prefer places with a lot of trees and a lot of shade, such as the location of this geocache. Over the course of the past summer, we spent ALOT of time at this location. Eventually, we decided to place a cache here (merely as something to do to get us out of our pickup truck).

The cache is a small plastic container (clearly labeled 'geocache') with pencil & pad of paper. Obiwan Road is not for the average passenger car; four-wheel drive high clearance vehicles only and only during dry weather. It may quickly become impassable after a rainstorm and completely impassable in the winter months.

Grabbing some caches while going down memory lane in the Piceance basin. Worked on a research project in the area in 1977. Lots has changed since then. Great spot to look for smoke. Cache is in good shape. Thanks for the hide!

An off the beaten path cache with some great views I've been meaning to find.

Day 3 of a 23 day caching trip with KCSearcher (my brother) with the goal of completing the Colorado Delorme Challenge and the county challenge called Mondo's Colorado 64 Challenge. In addition, we plan on picking up the oldest cache in Colorado called Tarryall. Today we drove from Rangely, CO to Eagle, CO picking up caches along the way for Delorme grids 22, 23, 24, 33, 34, 35, 36 and 44 and counties Rio Blanco, Garfield, and Eagle. Unfortunately, the road we had planned to take to this cache had a locked gate. Decided to pass on making the find as we didn't have time to figure out another possible way into the cache. Happy Caching.

We didn't read the part about the road not being for cars!! Actually the road is great till the last little bit. Mom even walked the rest of the way with me but she was tired when by the time she got back to the car. She's not used to the altitude I guess. SL
