A short drive and an easy walk from a posted county road.
I have hunted both deer and elk in this canyon. It is a beutiful place and one I thought would be great for a cache. We hope you enjoy the search.
The views Easterly are nice and you can learn a little about Rio Blanco County and its driving forces.

First to find in 3 years! Woo Hoo!! We were a little apprehensive about this one but threw caution to the wind and went anyhow! This one survived the fire!! Woo Hoo!! The fire in June of 2017 got within feet of this cache! Firefighters were obviously within yards of it and a slurry drop happened within a couple hundred yards! The picture is from by the cache -- fire came pretty much to the shadow! You can see the red slurry across the way! Thanks for bringing us here! Interesting area -- especially after the fire!

So maybe this cache should be slightly higher rated depending on where you hike in from. I managed to park somewhere where I had to cross two gullies and climb over two ridges. I'll have to check the map more carefully. TFTC!

Hard to find, as my sister said. It was a real adventure to get out there- we ended up hiking up and down slopes for a quarter of a mile, and also had to figure out how to get across a big gully. A hint about where to turn might be useful, as it appears there were two or three roads we could have taken and at least one of them had a sharp drop- not for every type of vehicle. (Not complaining, it was fun to be out there but for sure not a quick trip.) (Today was my first day geocaching.)

Had a hard time finding this one, as we couldn't tell where to turn off the main road or get out of the car.

Came over the river and through the woods from Vernal on a cold, clear Thanksgiving morning to grab this one. Nice hike in a couple of inches of snow. Thanks for the cache! BP
