I was going to bypass this cache but I am really glad I didn’t. The puzzle at wpt 2 was fun and the final area was really pretty. Love the stream there. Tftc! Gets a favorite from me. And I grabbed the trackable.

What a nice Multi! We thoroughly enjoyed each stage. The puzzle was quickly done and off we went. It did take us quite a while to find the final stage. And yes, it still looked like a bear went through here! Left TB. Tftc.

I found stage one easily enough, I had found it once before but had forgotten to record the co-ords of the second. This time I went right to #2 and solved the puzzle for the final. Looking at the map it looked like it was easier to get to the final by road but that didn't work. So back to the parking and off to the final. I must have looked for half an hour and turned over everything in sight without success. That big cottonwood is shedding lots of big slabs of bark and when I was done it looked like a bear had rooted through everything.
Still, thanks for the nice hike.
I explored the old homestead across the stream a couple of years back. Don't be afraid of the barbed wire fence, it's all State land back there. Very interesting, with the original stone dugout, then the log cabin and finally the frame built house. I wonder who they were. Uphill from the house are the remains of an old wood stave water line that must have carried irrigation water to Penrose.

Nice little hunt. Used to bring my puppies out here for a nice walk. Won't say how long ago that was, or maybe I will. In the 80's. Tftc
